This new book replaces the very popular previous ones because the Part 3 and SC are basically the same now. Reviews of previous books showed that the style it was written in was easy to understand, informative and helped countless PDIs and ADIs. The new book is A4; spiral bound and has 150 pages printed in colour. It has been written as a result of Lynne’s ORDIT training and helping many PDIs and ADIs to have success at Part 3 and a SC. Lynne has also had extensive feedback from examiners and clients who have already taken their assessments. She has continued to receive 51/51 for her own SC and her ORDIT assessment.

Lynne has revised this book with new content and detail. When it was first written, coaching and use of a client centred approach in driver training were new to the industry. This 2nd edition reflects its recent wide scale adoption and also Lynne’s own extended learning on the subject since the initial book. Chapters are fully revised with extra content and illustrations. Uniquely, it also contains reflective logs from Lynne’s own experiences of coaching. It’s a book that you can dip in and out of and easily return to for reference. Lynne expects this book to help anyone who is:
- Preparing for a Standards Check or Part 3
- Wanting to start to learn about coaching and client centred learning
- Wanting to understand more about coaching after an initial interest
- Just qualified as an ADI
- Wanting to update their skills if they have been an ADI for a number of years
- Wanting to increase basic coaching skills to more advanced ones

Lynne appreciates that you can’t learn everything about coaching from a book because it needs practice and experience. It also needs reflection and then changes in order to make improvement: it’s an ongoing process. However, you can use this book to get an understanding of your own ability to coach as well as tools, tips and techniques to try out. Lynne has already helped many PDIs and ADIs to “Come to Coaching” in the 1st edition: this version will increase skills even further.
